Confirm that drawing tools stay close at hand without crowding the general workspace.
- Before opening a sketch, click Draw. Confirm the menu opens immediately to the right of the main tool rail.
- Open a sketch on a plane or planar face. Confirm a permanent second column appears beside the main rail with large icons and visible names for Line, Rectangle, Circle, Arc, Spline, and Text.
- Choose each drawing tool from the permanent column and confirm its active state is clear.
- Return to 3D and confirm the second column closes so the modelling viewport regains the space.
- Open Draw again, then click the canvas or press Esc. Confirm the menu closes without changing the current tool.
- Try L, R, C, A, B, and T. Confirm the direct shortcuts still work.
- Click the Tools button. Confirm a separate flyout opens with specialist workflows such as Rosette designer.
- Confirm opening Draw closes Tools and opening Tools closes Draw.
- Confirm Select, Pan, Reference, Mirror, and Offset remain directly available on the main rail.

Related creation tools share one home
Before a sketch is open, the pencil-labelled Draw control groups Line, Rectangle, Circle, Arc, Spline, and Text in one flyout. While editing a plane-local sketch, those same tools stay visible in a permanent second toolbar column directly beside the canvas; the redundant Draw trigger is removed until the user returns to 3D. Both Sketch columns use the same large icons with visible names underneath as the 3D tool rail, while hover tooltips retain their shortcuts. Select and Move remain separate because they change interaction rather than create geometry. Reference, Mirror, Offset, Combine, Measure, and the specialist Tools control remain in the main column.
02 · INTERACTION
The layout follows the current task
Click Draw or Tools to toggle its flyout before entering a sketch. Opening one closes the other. Once a sketch is open, the drawing column stays visible for repeated geometry work while Tools continues to open to the right of both columns. Returning to 3D restores the compact single-column layout.
Flyout controls expose their expanded state, permanent drawing buttons retain clear accessible labels, and every entry remains reachable in the normal Tab order.
