Recommended test
Check both themes and confirm every display preference affects appearance only.
- Use the sun button in the top-right header and confirm the complete app changes to the light-grey theme.
- Open CAD Sketch, CAD 3D, CAM 2D, and CAM Animate. Confirm panels, canvases, overlays, labels, and geometry remain clearly separated.
- Open Workspace settings and the Tool library. Confirm inputs and supporting text remain easy to read.
- Move Gridline opacity toward zero and confirm the grid fades while geometry, axes, and dimensions stay unchanged.
- Set it to zero. Confirm snapping still follows the grid when Snap is enabled.
- Change Grid spacing from the default 10 mm to 1 mm. Confirm the visible segments and snapping step both update.
- Reload Cadivari and confirm the selected theme, opacity, and spacing are retained.
In Cadivari 0.1.4 and later, the View menu provides Show grid, Show properties panel, Light theme and Workspace settings. The installed app version appears beside the Cadivari wordmark and in the Windows title bar.
01 · OPEN
Use the tool-rail settings button
The settings control remains at the bottom of the left rail in both CAD and CAM. It opens a focused modal above the workspace. Click outside the panel, press Esc, use the close button, or choose Done to dismiss it.
02 · THEME
Choose dark or light
The sun or moon button in the top-right header switches the complete workspace. Dark remains the default. Light uses neutral light-grey surfaces, dark teal drawing geometry, and the same restrained gold action color so it stays familiar without relying on a simple color inversion.
The CAD sketch canvas, CAD 3D lighting, CAM views, G-code inspection, modal workflows, and specialist tools such as Rosette Designer all follow the selected appearance. The activation screen also follows the saved theme and uses the same Cadivari logo and sans serif interface typography as the workspace. Theme changes do not alter drawing or machining data.
03 · CANVAS
Set the gridline opacity
Gridline opacity uses a literal 0% to 100% range. Zero hides the grid completely, intermediate values blend the grid into the current canvas, and 100% produces fully opaque gridlines. The default is a subdued 12%.
Setting opacity to zero hides the grid visually but does not turn off Grid or Snap. Use the existing Grid and Snap controls in the bottom bar when their behavior should change.
04 · PRECISION
Set the grid segment size
Grid spacing accepts values from 1 mm through 100 mm. The default remains 10 mm. Changing it updates both the visible grid and grid snapping, so the mathematical snapping step always matches the canvas.
A new spacing affects points placed or edited while Snap is enabled. It does not move existing entities or add an undo command.
IMPLEMENTATION NOTE
Local workspace preferences
The chosen theme, opacity, and spacing are stored locally for the current installation or browser profile. They apply immediately, do not add an undo step, do not mark the project as changed, and are not written into the .cadiv project file.
