Recommended test
- Create a rectangular Extrude, then use Push/Pull on its top face to make it taller.
- Choose Chamfer and click a highlighted straight outer edge.
- Enter a small Distance, such as 2 mm, and choose Apply Chamfer.
- Select the stored Chamfer and change its Distance to 3 mm.
- Create a sketch on a flat side away from the bevel and use Push/Pull with Cut to add a pocket.
- Save and reopen. Confirm the face edit, Chamfer and Cut remain separate, editable history features.

Chamfer after other modelling operations
On a supported Extrude-based body that already has face edits or additional features, choose Chamfer and select one continuous straight convex edge where two planar faces meet. Enter the equal distance measured along the adjoining faces, inspect the preview, then choose Apply Chamfer or press Enter. Reselect returns to edge selection; Escape cancels the current preview.
The edge comes from the solid at this point in its history. It can follow repeated planar Push/Pull, sketch Join/Cut and compatible finishing operations. Later sketches, extrusions and supported face edits can follow it. Each new Chamfer feature selects one continuous edge; add another feature to bevel another supported edge.
For example, resize a block, chamfer its rim, then shell the still-convex body. A bevel that would erase a face or break into an unrelated wall or pocket is blocked.
02 · CLEAN EXTRUDE
Select one edge or a loop or the outer shell
A clean Extrude retains the broader prismatic Chamfer controls. Click a supported straight exterior rail, straight cap edge or exact circular rim. Hold Ctrl while clicking to build a same-body selection. Use Select edge loop, Select circular rim or Select all outer edges for a larger compatible scope. These multi-edge and circular-rim controls are specific to the clean Extrude workflow.
03 · EXACT SIZE
Choose equal distance or distance and angle
On a clean Extrude, Equal distance measures the same distance across and down the bevel; perpendicular faces produce a 45-degree bevel. Distance + angle uses a cap-face width and angle and reports the calculated axial depth. A selection containing vertical rails uses equal distance. The current-solid workflow above uses equal distance only.
04 · CLEAN EXTRUDE CORNERS
Choose Miter or Blend where supported
Miter keeps exact intersections between adjacent bevels. Blend rounds corners shared by selected neighboring cap edges. Mixed vertical and horizontal selections use Miter transitions. These controls belong to the clean Extrude multi-edge workflow.

Change a stored Chamfer
Select a Chamfer made on an edited body and change its Distance directly in the inspector. Cadivari rebuilds that feature and its later operations before accepting the edit. A clean Extrude Chamfer also offers Edit edges and settings to reopen its original multi-edge controls.
References and sizes are stored with the project. Upstream edits rebuild the Chamfer while its intended faces remain identifiable. If a reference disappears or becomes ambiguous, Cadivari reports the problem instead of choosing another edge. Remove dependent features and face-attached references before deleting their source. If a clean-body feature is followed by newer face edits or sketch extrusions, its numeric dimensions remain editable in the inspector. To change its original edge selection, remove those later solid edits first; its original selection task is available again on that earlier body.

Supported edges and combinations
- Edited Extrude-based bodies: one continuous straight convex edge between planar faces per Chamfer feature
- Clean prismatic Extrudes: supported straight cap loops, exterior rails and exact circular outer or hole rims, with their existing selection controls
- Compatible Chamfer, Fillet, Shell and extrusion sequences are supported; every requested result must retain a valid solid
- Re-entrant vertical hole corners, arbitrary curved-solid edges, curved-edge finishing and ambiguous or disconnected references remain unsupported
- Oversized bevels, collapsed faces and collisions with other walls are rejected
