Recommended test
Create one template label and verify its editable and exported geometry.
- Open Draw → Text, or press T, then click once on the canvas.
- In Properties, replace TEXT with PART TEMPLATE 2026.
- Open the font library. Compare Technical and Roman Serif centreline lettering with Noto Sans, Oswald, Roboto Slab, Cinzel, and the other outline families.
- Set Height to 6 mm, change the letter spacing, try centred alignment, and rotate the text.
- Undo and redo an edit, hide and show the object, then save and reopen the project.
- Export SVG and PDF and confirm the lettering remains clean vector linework at the same physical size.
01 · PLACE AND EDIT
One click creates an editable label
Activate Text from the Draw flyout or press T. Click the insertion point once; Cadivari creates a selected 10 mm-high TEXT object in the compatibility Technical font and returns to Select. Use Properties to choose the font and edit content, X and Y position, cap height, letter spacing, alignment, and angle. A selected label also shows a gold handle on its local height axis; drag it for a live cap-height preview and release to commit one undoable resize. Every committed change participates in undo and redo.
02 · PORTABLE GEOMETRY
The font library is part of Cadivari
Technical and Roman Serif remain true centreline engraving fonts. Ten additional Google Fonts—Noto Sans, Montserrat, Roboto Condensed, Barlow Condensed, Oswald, Roboto Slab, Libre Baskerville, Lora, Cinzel, and Cormorant Garamond—are bundled locally as exact, version-pinned Latin Extended assets. Cadivari converts those font programs into closed millimetre contours; it never relies on a browser font, an installed Windows font, or a network request.
The same resolved paths drive the canvas, saved project, SVG/PDF, CAM outline engraving, and 3D sketch topology. Counters in letters such as A, B, O, and 8 remain holes. In 3D, activate Push/Pull and select a closed letter face. Disconnected letters remain honest separate faces under the current solid-profile model.
Use a single-line font when one efficient cutter-centre pass is wanted. Use an outline font for traced outlines, closed profiles, raised lettering, pockets, or 3D extrusion.

CURRENT SCOPE
CAD text stays safe until explicitly engraved
Font choice is stored per Text object and survives drawing bounds, Fit Drawing, snapping, object visibility, project Save/Open, SVG export, and both fitted and tiled PDF export. Existing projects migrate to Technical so their geometry does not change. A label does not create machine motion automatically. To machine it, switch to CAM and deliberately create a separate linked Engraving operation.
