Recommended test

Use two ordinary shapes and one imported SVG so both individual and grouped placement are covered.

  1. Press G, click one shape to pick it up, then click its new destination.
  2. Undo once and confirm the complete move reverses as one action.
  3. With Move still active, hold Shift and click a second shape. Confirm one dashed selection envelope surrounds the group.
  4. Click either selected object, place the group, and confirm both objects preserve their spacing.
  5. Try Left, Centre X, Right, Bottom, Centre Y, and Top in the Properties panel.
  6. Middle-mouse drag over the selected geometry and confirm only the view pans.

01 · PLACEMENT

Pick up and place geometry

Choose Move from the CAD toolbar or press G, then click an object. That same click selects the object and establishes the move base point; click again to place it. If a selection already exists, you may also click any empty base point before choosing the destination. Both points use the normal snap system, so a corner, centre, endpoint, grid point, or nearby object can define the placement.

Hold Shift while choosing the destination to lock the movement horizontally or vertically. Press Escape before the second click to cancel without changing the drawing.

02 · SELECTION

Build a group without leaving Move

Hold Shift and click objects on the canvas or in Objects while Move remains active. Shift-clicking an already selected object removes it from the group. A normal click on any selected member then picks up the complete group. The most recently selected object remains the primary object for its individual property editor.

Linked geometry remains safe

Dependent geometry travels with its parent when the relationship requires it. For example, moving a rosette installation also carries its linked soundhole and regenerates the managed channel boundaries. Hidden geometry and protected generated boundaries are not transformed accidentally.

03 · PRECISION

Use exact offsets or align a group

The Move & align card at the top of Properties accepts relative Delta X and Delta Y values in millimetres. Each committed value moves the complete selection and returns the field to zero.

When two or more bounded objects are selected, six alignment commands appear. Left, Centre X, and Right align along the selection width; Bottom, Centre Y, and Top align along its height. Objects are translated only—their size, scale, rotation, and shape remain unchanged.
