Recommended test
- Create a 100 × 60 mm rectangle, add an Outside Contour, and leave tabs Off.
- Confirm Ramp and 3.0° are selected. Hover or focus the question marks beside Entry and Angle; each should explain its own setting without a separate help link.
- Set Cut to 4 mm and Step to 2 mm. In the motion summary, confirm two Approaches, ramp moves, and zero Plunges.
- Open 3D and animate. Each pass should approach the previously cleared depth, descend while moving around the path, complete a full loop at target Z, and retract.
- Inspect G-code. Ramp blocks must be G1 moves containing both planar motion and descending Z.
- Switch Entry to Plunge. The ramp count should become zero and the straight-plunge cutter warning should appear.
- Restore Ramp, enable tabs, and try a very shallow angle. If the clear path before the first tab is too short, export must remain blocked with a specific ramp-length message.
01 · SHARED MOTION
Previous depth to target depth
The first ramp begins at stock-top Z0. Later ramps approach the previous pass depth through the already cleared start channel. The cutter then descends along the stored path at the selected angle. Once target Z is reached, Cadivari follows the complete path once at that exact depth before retracting to Safe Z.
02 · CONFIGURABLE
One to fifteen degrees
The compact Entry row keeps its general behavior in the adjacent question-mark tooltip. When Ramp is active, Angle has a separate tooltip for its geometry. The default is 3°. A lower angle needs more path length; a higher angle enters more steeply. Cadivari calculates the required length from the largest depth step and blocks a ramp that cannot fit within the guarded path.

The field is geometry validation, not a cutting recommendation. Confirm a suitable ramp angle, feed, cutter, and material strategy for the real job.
03 · GUARDED GEOMETRY
Keep clear of tabs with exact motion after circular entry
On tabbed contours, the ramp must finish before the first retained bridge. Move the start point or tab, increase the angle, or reduce stepdown when the available clear segment is too short.
Circular ramps use bounded linear entry segments. At the bottom of the ramp, Cadivari places the endpoint back on the mathematical cutter-centre circle before the exact G2/G3 target-depth loop begins.
