0.3.0 From solid model to toolpath
Bring your CAD bodies into CAM. Select faces, rough in layers, finish curved surfaces and see the stock that remains.

A good model is only the beginning. Cadivari 0.3.0 connects the solid you design with the paths that machine it: choose the body and its orientation, select the faces to work on, remove the bulk stock, then follow the surface with a finishing cutter.

Your model inside CAM
The new 3D Model view keeps the solid, stock and toolpaths together. Choose one setup body, set Cutter Z, rotate or position it, and fit the stock. Orbit to inspect the work or switch to Top for a clear view of the machining area.
Select a suitable planar boundary for an outside contour, or a supported recessed floor for a pocket. The operations stay linked to the model: changing the body or setup asks you to regenerate the paths before output. Read the model setup and contours guide and model pockets guide.
Choose the faces that matter
For Roughing and Surface, choose the whole body or switch to Selected faces. Click one or several accessible flat or curved upper faces. Amber shading makes the selection clear; another click removes a face.
The selected area limits where the cutter centre travels. Its radius can overlap the edges, and the rest of the setup body remains included in clearance calculations. Use Edit machining area to change an existing operation's selection while keeping its cutter and settings.
Selections are saved with the project. If an edit changes or removes a selected face, Cadivari asks you to select it again instead of quietly applying the operation to the whole body.
Rough first and finish next
Model Roughing uses a flat end mill to clear above the body in depth layers. Set stepdown, stepover and allowance, then inspect the terraces left for the finishing cutter. Ramped entries descend along the clearing path; short entries report when the chosen ramp cannot fit.
Model Surface uses a ball-nose cutter to follow accessible curved and sloping upper surfaces. Cutter-radius compensation and segment clearance checks account for the model and allowance. Choose the raster direction and spacing that suit the shape.
Both operations now make more considered connecting moves. Roughing can travel through verified cleared space. Surface finishing can follow the surface into a nearby lane. When the connection cannot be established, the cutter keeps its full Safe-Z lift.

See what is left
Remaining stock compares the simulated material with the target body. Switch between After roughing and After finishing: green is close to the target, while yellow and orange reveal excess material, including terraces higher than the nominal allowance.
The comparison runs in the background and reuses calculated geometry, making it more responsive to navigate. It is an overview of sampled remaining material, with the grid size shown alongside the result. It does not calculate cutting load or replace a machining review. A clearer path through the job
Complete-job playback carries material removal from one operation to the next and pauses at cutter changes. The tool-change message and CAM verification panels now read clearly in light mode, too. This release supports fixed-axis machining of suitable accessible surfaces. Surface selection targets upward-facing faces. Undercuts, holder and fixture clearance, other-body collision checks and automatic finishing-load verification are outside this workflow. Surface finishing needs stock roughed close to the model. Review the generated moves and physical setup before exporting.
When saving work with the new CAM definitions, keep a copy if you also need to open it in an older Cadivari version.
